I’ve added character bios (seen as you page through the strips, not on the front page, weirdly enough) for all the Black Flies crew. Marv and I had pitched it as a series, so we’d thought through our cast a bit (Marv, especially, had some great ideas).

And we’re back, with John’s new process (digital pencils, hand inking). Dig that fourth panel, right? I’m excited about this switch up.

And ta-da, the end of the first story. I’ll be running these as I feel like it (there’s four more, including the unfinished fifth story), and maybe doing new material. Or maybe not.

If I had to sum up Brawler Land, it’s “outlaw streetfighters versus the Feds and each other, largely as an excuse to draw dumb chats and punching”. I hope you enjoy this and future installments.

Crowd scenes, backgrounds…everything is hard when you can’t draw.

I spent…spend…a not-unsubstantial amount of time in diners, bullshitting with my friends. I’ve also been known to take a “there’s something WRONG with you…there’s something seriously WRONG with you” approach to film suggestions.

Brawler Land, man. Shonen series I came up with in high school, that I’ve tried off and on to get going over the years…this run is from ’09, which is the last time I tried it.

I’m running it here because…uh, I found all the old files, and I can. *shrug*

John’s taking a one week break to switch up his process a bit (there’s also the little matter of a wedding…his…to put together). THAW should be back next week, and feel free to wish John well in the comments below.
