The House Always Wins, pg01
You can’t see it on this page so much, but The House Always Wins is my berserko J-Horror comic.
It started as a comic that didn’t win a contest (but I can’t remember who did, and the imprint isn’t around anymore, and anyway we all die someday, you know. So that’s alright). Now it’s…well, a lot of things:
- A 96-ish page graphic novel we’re serializing at a page a week, then collecting in a PDF to sell.
(If any publishers read this, and want to handle the print version after it’s all out, by all means, hit me up at the email listed on the Who + What page. Print needs a lead time, and if you act today, then 96-ish weeks from now, we can all look like we had a print version planned all along. )
- A statement of intent, even more Cooking with L.O.I.S.: “we can do other comics here”. R+M is always going to be the star, but this will not be the last comic we run on here while R+M ticks merrily along. I’ve been joking to the other artists we have lined up that my aim is being Webcomics Stan Lee.
Only, y’know, all these guys half-own the comics we do together. /iceburn
Anyway, it’s only a joke if we don’t pull it off.
- If I’m being honest, more than anything else, it’s an excuse to work with John Bivens, whose work I’ve loved since I first met him on The Engine. That Bivens is not three years into a Marvel contract might actually be a crime in some states.
The House Always Wins will be running at a page every Thursday.
